[Sale] Friends of the Library Book Sale

Are you in in the mood to read some books?  If so, this weekend would be a good time to check out the Friends of the Library book store.  They are located in the same building at the downtown branch of the Spokane Public Library.  I am suggesting you check out their store this weekend because they are having a winter book sale on Friday and Saturday.  You can find more information about the sale by clicking here.  I will say that on Saturday you can bring a bag and fill it with books for only $3!

[My Finds] Fringe and Fray

There is a great resale clothing and home decor boutique in Spokane named Fringe and Fray.  They have reasonable prices and are a great place to look if you are wanting quality "wears."

I have found some great items there.  These great boots were $30 and the sweater for my boyfriend (that I sometimes steal) was $7.  I also found a locket (not pictured) there for $5 that I wear often.

My mother was in town recently and took engagement photos for a good friend.  Of course, my friend looked to Fringe and Fray for outfits to wear in the pictures and she wasn't disappointed.

Here are the items she bought at Fringe and Fray for the shoot:

Floral Dress $12

Blue Sweater $10
One of the necklaces she is wearing was FREE because she won it at Fringe and Fray's 1st Birthday party.
Adorable Denim Dress $12

I recommend following them on Facebook and Twitter for special deals.

Monday's Picks

Unfortunately, I didn't notice anything Valentine's themed on Craigslist today but here are some non-Valentine's goodies:

These look like fun cups and a pretty good deal for $10.  There are quite a few listed on Etsy at more expensive prices.

Bailey's Coffee Cups
$20

Set of 10 coffee cups from Bailey's Irish Cream. Those were sold in the mid 90's with bottles of Bailey's.
There are a few rare sets such as the "egg cup" style and the sugar and creamer.
These items are from a clean, non-smoking house. $20 or best offer.

I don't think I have seen a dresser/desk like this before but I think it's a pretty cool use of space.

Dresser
$20

OLD DRESSER - I HAVE OWNED IT SINCE 1965 - I AM MOVING AND DO NOT WANT TO TAKE IT THIS TIME
HAS SOME SLIGHT WATER DAMAGE AND SOME OF THE VENEER HAS PEELED ONTHE TOP
MIDDLE SECTION OPENS TO A DESK

I think this canister is just too cute.

Ceramic Canister/Jar with Lid
$20

Picture says it all. This is in great shape!

And here are the honorable mentions of the day:
Lamps
Artwork
Neon Sign
Dinnerware
FREE Treadmill

Happy Valentine's Day!

Friday's Picks

There are some great deals on the Spokane Craigslist right now.  Here are my top picks:

I like the shape of this coffee table and I think it's a good deal for $20.

$20

Wood coffee table painted hunt club green with a protective top coat. Dimensions: 53 1/2 inches L, 20 inches W and 15 1/2 inches H.

When I searched for marble rolling pins online it looked like you could get a comparable one shipped to you for around $15 total.  This one offers you a $10 savings and a change to feel good about buying pre-owned and local.
$5

Marble rolling pin with it's own cradle like holder.

Can you buy lawn chairs like this today?  Maybe, but do they cost $10 for 3?
3 for $10

We have 3 folding lawn chairs that we are no longer using. Two are standard height, made of vinyl strapping. The other is a beach height chair, made from woven outdoor strapping. All three for $10

[FREE] Thursday's Find

I came across this listing in the free section yesterday and wanted to share it.  I think 2nd Harvest's Plant a Row for the Hungry Program is a wonderful example of creating a sustainable cycle within our community.  If you have room to grow some fruits and veggies this year, I suggest looking into this program.

FREE VEGETABLE SEEDS

Second Harvest - a non-profit food distribution center serving 21 counties in eastern Washington and 5 counties in northern Idaho - is giving away FREE fruit, vegetable and herb seeds. The program is called Plant A Row for the Hungry. We supply local home gardeners, farmers, community gardens, etc. with the seeds, and in return we ask that you donate some of your harvest (whatever you can afford) back to us. We then distribute the produce to local food banks to help feed our hungry neighbors in Spokane County. The program is a win-win-win for everyone involved, especially those who need our help the most. PLEASE CONSIDER GROWING A LITTLE EXTRA PRODUCE THIS YEAR; FAR TOO MANY OF OUR BROTHERS, SISTERS, CHILDREN AND ELDERY NEED OUR HELP!!

[Pretty Little Things] Sunday's Finds

I have some vintage jewelry pieces from my grandmother that I wear regularly.  Passing things down is one of my favorite ways to "recycle" and I will do a post soon on some of my favorite items that have been passed down to me.

Here are some pretty little things available locally that could start the tradition of passing things down in your family:

$20

This ring is very small size and great for a pinky ring or someone with very slender fingers. This is a piece of costume jewelry but is quite old and in good condition. Cash only.   Will consider best offer.

Someone with an Etsy store, posted this ad on the Spokane CL saying they will sell their items locally so those of us in the area can save on shipping costs.  Their Etsy store lists some great jewelry and here are a few of my favs for $20 and under (click on the image to be taken to the listing):

A $7 vase might not be the type of thing that you would think to pass down but I really appreciate the pretty, useful things I have received from family members, no matter their value.

Flower Pattern Vase/Jar
$7

The seller did not provide anymore information about the vase so please click on the posts title to be taken to the original ad.

Thursday's Finds

Here are the latest and greatest ads from the Spokane Craigslist for $20 and under.

A two-drawer cabinet if you are in need of some new storage space:

$20

I have a 2-drawer cabinet that is particle board but cherry colored. It was originally a lateral file cabinet, but I lost the key and have made it into storage drawers. Each drawer will hold a LOT of weight and still pull out smoothly, this cabinet is very sturdy. There are a few dings and scratches, but function is not affected. $20 or best offer

A primitive chair if you like this look and are in need of a new seating option:

$5

Rustic looking chair.

A coffee percolator if you need something to make your coffee:

$15

Antique Coffee Percolator. All the parts are there and it is complete...great deal at only $15.

And a small dresser and nightstand:

Dresser $20
Nightstand $10

Very cute.  Dresser measures 31x32

[Local Business] Wednesday's Find

I ventured into The Store Next Door today because I saw they were having a 50% off sale.  The Store Next Door is the upscale Salvation Army thrift store and it is attached to Salvation Army's regular thrift store at 2020 N Division.  I noticed some fun stuff for cheap and recommend stopping by during the sale.  Almost everything is 50% off through February 5th and there is a special 75% off room as well.  If you go on the 5th you should pop into the regular Salvation Army thrift store because they are also having a 50% off sale this weekend.

Happy Hunting,
Lu
